Almost finished projects
No time to sew the last weekend so my plans to get caught up on some projects were pushed back a bit. I loved hopping blog to blog on the Villa Rosa blog hop. Lots of inspiration and I really need to take notes on some of the ideas that popped into my brain before they forever disappear.
Yesterday, I was going to sew, garden and generally have a stay at home day but I got called into a tennis match so away I went. I did get a small project top done and it’s now awaiting quilting. I decided to do the Moda Love Charm Challenge quilt but I didn’t choose a Moda charm pack as originally intended. One of my first quilt fabric purchases was a charm pack Monet by Kaufman fabrics. This was a digital print in a lovely color wheel. I could never find a pattern that seemed to do it justice and then all of a sudden I knew the Love Charm pattern was it!
The black background was perfect to show off the colors. I ended up adding a purple border and now just ready for quilting. I am going to try ruler quilting after a few weeks of practice.
Finally trimmed an already quilted quilt, just need to do binding..my least favorite part. Need to pick the fabric. On the back is super soft minky type fabric. This is a camping quilt for our travel trailer and really happy with how it turned out. Just gotta do the binding. Grrr Arrgh
And there’s a glimpse of my quilting buddy Fir. Fabric was 10” squares Riley Blake High Adventure. The pattern was Buliding Blocks from Missouri Star.
Last pic is a Villa Rosa quilt that I finally put the binding on. Cherrydale is the pattern. The 2.5” strips are from Benartex, Dance of the Dragonflies. Back is purple minky and background is purple Kona fabric but not sure exactly which one. Yay, in my finished pile.
